Notice for using silicone sealant to building curtain walls
Building curtain walls consist with hardware, glass and boards. It is building perimeter walls or decorative structures.Poor quality Silicone Sealants cause cracking, hardening, contamination, and cracking.This may cause the building curtain wall to fall off or other safety problems.So, please pay attention to choose and test silicone sealant.
2. Choose silicone sealant
Do compatibility test before use, silicone sealant with poor viscosity is easy to cracking, causes the building curtain wall to fall off.
Check the aging resistance, weather resistance and weather resistance of adhesives. Silicone sealant with poor resistance is unable to bear the weight of the building curtain wall.
Ensure that the silicone sealant is compatible with the building curtain wall. Different silicone sealant have different properties, Oxime silicone sealant is corrosive to metals, and acid silicone sealant is corrosive to brass.Colored silicone is more hard than Transparent Silicone Sealant. Choose different glues according to the material of the building curtain wall and the function of the glue.
3.Application
The construction thickness of silicone building sealant should be greater than 35mm, and the construction width should not be less than 2 times the construction thickness. The bottom of the deeper sealing groove should be filled with polyethylene foam material.
Should not be applied at night or on rainy days. The application temperature should meet the design requirements and product requirements.
The application surface should be clean and dry before application.
Take care of temperature, especially in winter.Too high or too low temperature will both reduce the performance of silicone sealant.
